Vinyl - Retro13 Mini Puzzle
This is a free mini puzzle — something small to keep your puzzle-solving muscles warm. It won’t take you long to solve, but you might learn a new trick or at least have a little fun along the way.
No need to form a team or overthink it. No prize this time, just a fun diversion for my puzzle friends while I brainstorm the next big Retro13 challenge.
Ready? Let’s jump in.
A Quick Puzzle Guide: “Find the URL”
Stop reading if you want to solve the puzzle on your own.
Step 1 – Download the File
As with many digital-file puzzles, the first step is simply to download the provided PDF.
Open it in Preview, Adobe Reader, or any other PDF viewer on your computer or mobile device.
Step 2a – Look for Visual Clues
Give the pages a quick scan. Anything unusual?
In this puzzle, you’ll see a collection of record covers and vinyls. Maybe something about them stands out, like a hint of blue or a small addition that doesn’t quite belong.
Step 2b – Check the Metadata
When in doubt, look under the hood. Most files contain metadata — hidden bits of information that can include keywords or hints. Using your favorite file inspector tool, take a peek. You might find something helpful.
In this case, the PDF metadata includes the phrase:
“Find The Url.”

Okay, let’s do just that.
Step 3 – Follow the Trail
Back to the image and that sense that something was added to the records.
Look closely at the spines of the records.
See anything that resembles a web address? That might be our base URL.
Wait — there’s also a blue triangle ▼ near one of the records. Interesting.
Maybe it connects to something else in the image.
That same symbol is on one of the 10 vinyl records. Maybe that's the next part of the path to follow. Put it together and we will find our url.
You’ve found it. Puzzle solved.
